Free and Reduced Lunch Program & Eligibility
Children need healthy meals to learn. Washtenaw Intermediate School District offers healthy meals every school day and is participating in Michigan’s Healthy School Meals for All program, so all students are able to breakfast and lunch for free on all full school days during 2023-24! As part of that program, we encourage all families who feel that they might qualify the Federal free or reduced price lunch eligibility to apply for those benefits, especially since other federal and state school funding is based on free and reduced price meal eligibility counts. Information is included below on applying.

Meal Funds Refunds
All student meal account balances roll from year to year throughout their career with Washtenaw ISD. If you are in need of a refund from your student’s meal account due to a move or graduation please complete the Food Service Refund Request form. If your request is due to our participation in the Michigan Healthy School Meals program, please note that should the program be discontinued at the state level that you will need to reestablish your account at that time.
The form will be automatically forwarded to the appropriate staff members to process your request. Please note that Washtenaw ISD only sends out checks twice per month, so it could take a month or so to receive your refund depending on the timing of your request. Fully completing the requested information will provide for a timelier refund.
If your request is related to moving or graduation, all requests must be received within six months of your student’s departure from the district. After six months, any funds remaining in accounts of students who have left the district will be transferred to a sibling account, if one exists, or to the Food Service Fund to offset unpaid student balances or operational costs.
Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) was established to ensure that low income children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.
Breakfast Options for High Point & Young Adult
